"I can't rave enough about Evan Jones, both his performance as our DJ and also his general personality and attitude.  Evan just gave us a good vibe at our first meeting.  From that point on, he never let us down.  He did everything flawlessly on the big day.  Rather than just throwing songs out there randomly, he played them out in sync with the crowd, in a way that just worked the mood so perfectly.  He also put a lot of thought into how the songs transition into each other, so that it all just flowed.  Soon enough, everyone was on the dance floor - the younger crowd first, but then, even our grandparents were shaking down!  Evan was also great at working in so many different styles and tempos that we had requested, from hip-hop to rock and roll to ballroom. Most importantly, Evan was so pleasant to work with.  He seemed to really care about our wedding.  We found him incredibly helpful at every turn, no matter what our concerns or requests were.  We never really worried about anything with Evan handling the music, and that was so important as the stress of everything else piled up."

Melissa Lawton, Saddlerock Vineyards, Malibu, CA
”Evan was the BEST wedding DJ ever.  I had heard him DJ at a wedding in New York as a guest.  When I got married in Los Angeles years later, I e-mailed him to see if he would fly to California to DJ my wedding – and he did!  Evan graciously encouraged me to pick songs in advance that were “must play” – then expertly deduced other songs on his own that were perfectly in synch with my tastes.  We agreed to do an upbeat dance set even before the dinner was served, and the entire dance floor was packed!  Basically, the entire night Evan kept the crowd totally grooving.  He gets that you have to pick songs both older and younger generations will get into.  Evan also has great presence and worked so well with my coordinator for all the emceeing duties.  I should also note that somewhat last minute, I needed microphones and speakers for my ceremony site.  Evan stepped in and handled everything for the ceremony as well, although it’s not a task he usually handles in addition to DJ’ing.  I had many many compliments both during the reception and after the event about how fantastic the music was.  You can’t go wrong with Evan – he plays the best music and is an absolute dream to work with.”

Leisl Olsen, Keltic Lodge, Ingonish, Nova Scotia
"My calves and ankles are only now recovering from the dance floor.  You were awesome. We really didn't expect to have so much fun at our wedding, and seriously, your music was a huge part of it. Seeing my friends Kassie and Allison playing air guitar on stage, to Journey, was a huge highlight, as well as watching Pam and the Priest boogie to Abba."

Christopher Yeanos, Halloween Party, Washington, DC
"Hey Evan -- I don't give out references lightly -- the fact of the matter is, you made my Halloween Party a true success. You are a true credit to your profession."

Donna Canzano, Downtown Association, New York, New York
"We were so lucky to have had DJ Evan Jones at our event! Never before have guests danced as long and had as much fun as this did at this year's fundraiser. The dance floor was packed for hours and people didn't want the night to end. We even had to ask our catering hall to extend our event time because people were having so much fun!"

Meredith Codlin, Studio 450, New York, New York
“I met Evan when he was DJing the wedding of two friends of mine back in Sept 2001.  During their reception, everyone from staid aunts to crusty lawyers was up on the dance floor, shaking their booty all night long.  It was unlike any other reception I've been to, and it wasn't just the crowd.  From that experience, I knew Evan was an excellent and unique DJ, so I didn't hesitate to contact him when my husband and I were planning out wedding.  It was the best decision we could have made.  Evan was warm and accommodating from the first correspondence we had, and he was always very receptive to our ideas and music choices.  Based on the play lists we sent him early on ("must play" and "banned" songs), Evan gauged our taste and expanded upon what we gave him, making the evening completely personalized and special, without any "wedding cliches."  During the cocktail hour and dinner, Evan set the perfect backdrop for conversation with jazz standards and Sinatra favorites.  When the dance sets got started, he seamlessly mixed swing music with 80's Europop and current dance and hip hop grooves.  There wasn't a moment when the dance floor wasn't filled!  Every single guest danced at some point in the night, and even the groom - who is not usually one to dance (in public, at least), was out there gettin' down for quite a few numbers.  Evan's mix of music was truly irresistible.  I actually didn't leave the dance floor all night - I'd try to go mingle, but then there would be YET ANOTHER perfect song that I just had to dance to!  So many people told me it was the best music they'd ever heard at a wedding, and the best time they'd ever had at a reception.  Evan also handled the flow of the evening very professionally, keeping the schedule moving along but maintaining a sense of spontaneity  and a natural timing for the events of the night (toasts, cutting of the cake, etc).  Overall, I would recommend Evan to ANYONE - he will make your wedding a memorable experience for you, and for even the most discriminating of your guests.”

Amon Marstiller, The Four Seasons, Washington, DC
"Having Evan DJ our post party was the perfect way to cap off a great night. He was great!"

Sanda Yee-Blank, St. Regis Hotel, Washington, DC
"Evan worked my wedding this past summer. He was easy to work with, very accommodating to all of our requests, and worked the crowd perfectly. Pretty much you couldn't ask for a better DJ."

Marsha Ralls, Halcyon House, Washington, DC
"Thank you so much for everything! You did a great job & we all had a wonderful time! Have a wonderful holiday!"

Jennifer Roth, Hotel Monaco, Washington, DC
"
Bravo to Evan! Our guests are still telling us that they never danced so much at a wedding! We had a very eclectic mix of music and you played our list in a way that kept the dance floor packed. When I surprised my husband with the Funky Four of the Redskins Marching Band, you cued their music perfectly providing another highlight to the evening. You went above and beyond the call going out and buying a new CD when the one we burned didn't play! We have one question, is it too soon to book you for our 10th Anniversary party!"

Cathy Lifeso, Peter White Studios, New York, New York
"I'm so excited to have a chance to recommend Evan Jones as a dj. He was incredible! I've been to a ton of weddings over the past year (27 seems to be the magical age), and he was far and away the best dj I've seen. He is the antithesis of the cheesy dj stereotype and his music selection is immense. We made out a play list to give him an idea of our taste - he totally respected our "must haves" and "banned" lists, and completely understood our taste enough to improvise and improve upon our initial list. For example, we told Evan both that we're huge fans of 80s music and are opposed to wedding cliches like "Last Dance," so Evan chose as our last dance of the evening, "The Humpty Dance", which people loved. I was also very impressed by his judgment: for example, he ran up to me at one point during the evening to ask if it was okay to play a request for "She's Always a Woman" by Billy Joel, which he thought was too mellow to fit the current dancing mood. I agreed and nixed the request, and really appreciated him checking with me."

Elif Bali, Ithaca, New York
"Evan did a wonderful job of gauging the mood of the crowd at our wedding and playing to their tastes. He also managed to incorporate some highly diverse world music that we had requested, which enabled everyone there to hear a little of what they liked, and also allowed everyone to join in the party. We have heard from many of our guests that it was the most fun wedding they could remember due to the great music, the energy of the crowd and how everyone (young and old) really got on the dance floor and had fun. In addition to being a great DJ, Evan was a pleasure to work with and just a really nice guy from the moment we first sat together to discuss the event."

Liz Gregg, Naushon Island, Massachusetts
"Evan was the DJ at our wedding in June of 1999, and he was fabulous! He listened to and complied with all of our strange requests, including our wedding song, which only existed on a copied cassette. I would recommend him to anyone!"

Eric Burd, Cameron Estate Inn, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania
"Only good things to say about Evan.  Evan took the time prior to the event to get to know us and our taste in music. This made all the difference during the wedding. He kept the music flowing but always had a sense of our personal vibe.  Through the rain and a power outage, Evan kept the music on...Thanks for making our event such a great time!  We had originally asked Evan to DJ until 10pm the night of the wedding.  When the B&B owner allowed the party to go until 1am, Evan kept going without saying a word. He kept the evening going....people are still telling us we had the best wedding EVER."

Jennifer Poulos, Harvard Club, Boston, Massachusetts
"I first met Evan at a close friend's wedding in DC; the wedding was one of the best weddings I had ever been to, and Joe (my husband) and I could not stop talking about how much we enjoyed dancing the night away! Well, Joe and I are not exactly DJ People and when planning our wedding we went to listen to many bands and actually booked a 10 piece band to play at our wedding. Needless to say, we ended up canceling our contract with the band. We contacted our friend in DC (mind you, our wedding was in Boston), and inquired about Evan. Much to our surprise, relief, and joy, Evan was available and willing to travel for our wedding. We planned the music via e-mail and a couple of phone calls; Evan is very easy to work with, as he listens to your needs, concerns, and suggestions. We provided him with a bunch of songs that we like off of his extensive play list, and he put it all together, perfectly! We had a great reception filled with a great assortment of music that ALL of our guests enjoyed! Many people during, as well as after the wedding commented on how much fun the wedding was and what a great DJ we had. Bottom line, Evan is easy to work with, unobtrusive, and very professional. We do not regret for a second our switch from our very overpriced band to Evan Jones' services. I highly recommend that you contract Evan for your wedding."

Maureen Frank, Fort Belvoir, Arlington, VA
”You did an awesome job at our reception!  I know Chris and I didn’t give you too much to go on as far as our tastes in music, but you picked excellent songs.  Seeing my Aunt Jeanne dance around like she did at the age of 80-something was pretty cool and my mom even danced – that’s not something I think I’ve ever seen!  Sarah Griffin said that it was the only reception she had been to that she didn’t want to end because she was having a great time!  We also wanted to thank you for covering our toast – obviously I hadn’t thought the whole evening through in regards to timing, but you really came through for us.”

Jane Diaz, Gramercy Mansion, Baltimore, Maryland
"When I thought about the music when my daughter announced her wedding, I thought immediately of Evan.  My association with Evan came years ago, long before my daughter met her future husband.  I knew Evan to be a wonderful, uplifting, positive person, who loves to have fun, with a passion for life . So, when the engagement came, and the wedding plans started, I thought immediately of Evan.  When I called him, he graciously offered, and said he would love to "rock the night away".  We have a special attachment to "AC/DC" and just as he promised, Evan ended the night with a great medley from the band, sending the wedding party and friends into a frenzy.  He can't imagine how great that was, but I think he has a slight idea!  No one could find a better person to end a wonderful day.  Thank you again, Evan, for everything."

Kathleen Coyle, Wyndham Hotel, Washington, DC
"You did a wonderful job djing my wedding. I was very pleased to hear that you stayed longer than planned & continued to "play one more tune!" Thanks for making everyone dance!! I had fun!! Thanks again!"

Jofi Joseph, River Farm, Alexandria, VA
"Evan Jones proved to be the perfect DJ for our wedding. He knew instinctively the right songs to play at every point -- there was always a crowd on the dance floor. Following our first dance as a wedding couple, Evan invited all of the guests onto the floor as he played "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra -- a perfect choice as my wife's family and many friends are from New York. We would highly recommend Evan for a wedding or any other party event."

Kris Langhorn, Hay Adams Hotel, Washington, DC
"We're really happy with the way Evan kept the night going.  The dance floor was never empty and we got lots of comments on how good the selection was.  Evan was punctual, well dressed, friendly, open to requests and kept a low profile.  He was also flexible enough to play a few extra tracks at the end, after the event had fallen behind.  We'd definitely recommend him for your event!"

Keith Wesley, GWU Law School, Washington, DC
"Unlike in previous years, the dance floor was packed all night at this year's law journal formal. I would have to attribute it to your music selection and feel for the crowd.  Thanks again for making this year's event the most successful in journal history."

Anne Albanese, Marsh USA, Morristown, NJ
"Hi Evan, Thanks again for doing such a great job at our corporate holiday party! My colleagues were very complimentary of the music. You kept the party festive and upbeat with a great mix of tunes. I would highly recommend you to anyone!”

Liz Kneeland, Alexandria, VA
"Evan was the DJ for our December 2002 wedding reception. From the start, he asked a lot of questions about what we wanted out of the reception and out of him. Dancing is not something that most of our friends are overly eager to do but Evan played just the right tunes to get them all out on the dance floor - even my mother and grandmother! It's a nice feeling to know that, without a doubt, the DJ is going to do a great job and with Evan, that's what you get. He is so easy to work with and truly seems to be having a great time which helps everyone else have fun too. I would recommend Evan to everyone for any type of engagement. Thanks again for everything, Evan."

Matt Harris, Home, McLean, VA
"You were a delight to work with. Your professionalism, eagerness, and ability to read the mood of the guests were all much appreciated! We look forward to having you back to parties in the future."

Abby Weinstock, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Washington, DC
"Evan Jones has served as the DJ for various functions over the last several years for the company for which I work. He has a great selection of music, is happy to take requests, and is a true crowd-pleaser. We look forward to having him as our DJ at future events."
